Turquoise beads should be cleaned with warm soapy water. It is quite porous, so should be kept from colored jewelry cleaners, and harsh cleaners, as it could soak in coloring and chemicals and change color over time. Care should be taken to keep from chipping this softer gemstone, by removing before working or playing hard.
14kt gold-filled jewelry is made with thick layer of gold (5% by weight) bonded to a high quality metal core of silver, brass, or copper. Although it isn’t solid gold, it essentially functions the same as any 14kt gold jewelry: it wont rub off or turn colors easily. It can be treated and cleaned as you would 14kt gold, and lasts 10-30 years of everyday wear with care. It can be cleaned with warm, soapy water, and a soft brush, then dried with a soft cloth.
