It is quite porous, so should be kept from colored jewelry cleaners, and harsh cleaners, as it could soak in coloring and chemicals and change color over time. 14kt gold-filled jewelry is made with thick layer of gold (5% by weight) bonded to a high quality metal core of silver, brass, or copper. Although it isn’t solid gold, it essentially functions the same as any 14kt gold jewelry: it wont rub off or turn colors easily. It can be treated and cleaned as you would 14kt gold, and lasts 10-30 years of everyday wear with care. It can be cleaned with warm, soapy water, and a soft brush, then dried with a soft cloth.
