Sterling silver should be stored properly and kept from heavy chemicals to keep from tarnishing, but unlike many metals, it can be cleaned and returned to its original shine. Use the most gentle cleaner that can get the job done: Silver can be cleaned with a silver polishing cloth, or gentle all purpose jewelry cleaner.
